We all know the effects of the compacted timetable on Premier League players this season and the unbelievably massive increase in injuries especially muscle injuries.
Every Premier League club has had its fair share of injuries this season. So let's go through all the injuries club by club.
ASTON VILLA - 3 injuries
BRIGHTON - 5 injuries
BURNLEY - 4 injuries
CHELSEA - 2 injuries
CRYSTAL PALACE - 7 injuries
EVERTON - 8 injuries
FULHAM - 2 injuries
LEEDS - 5 injuries
LEICESTER - 8 injuries
LIVERPOOL - 6 injuries
MANCHESTER CITY - 0 injuries
MANCHESTER UNITED - 8 injuries
NEWCASTLE - 4 injuries
SHEFFIELD UNITED - 7 injuries
SOUTHAMPTON - 6 injuries
TOTTENHAM - 2 injuries
WEST HAM - 6 injuries
WOLVES - 3 injuries
Sitting top of the injuries list are Manchester United, Leicester City and Everton with 8 injuries each and completing the top 5 is Crystal Palace and Sheffield United with 7 concurrent injuries.
Currently only 1 club from the 20 is without injury problems and that is Manchester City, who at the minute are 14 points clear at the top of the table and look just as likely to grab their 3rd title in 4 years as Sheffield United are as dropping into the Championship next season.
With injuries a common occurrence in a contact sport such as football its not a surprise that clubs are without key players, but for 19 out of 20 clubs to have 2 or more key injuries is just another effect of the ever-present Coronavirus pandemic and the compacted season in which we currently face.
