ORIGI'S LAST-GASP WINNER FOR LIVERPOOL AT MOLINEUX

After 95 minutes of scrappy football it came down to just 3 passes and 1 super sub for the game to be decided at Molineux.

Liverpool dominated the ball for the majority of the match with 67% possession of the ball and 17 attempts on the Wolves goal.

There was little threat from the home team in gold throughout the match with an expected goals of 0.14 compared to Liverpool’s 2.32.

Neither team could hit the target in the first half which was probably the most scrappy 45 minutes of football the visitors have had this season with both teams having more passes in the first half than in the second period.

So it was goalless at the break and with arguably Liverpool’s best eleven on the field of play Jurgen Klopp knew he needed a big attacking performance from his Reds in the second half.

As chances came and went with an open goal miss from Diogo Jota and Thiago’s triple miss from around 4 yards it seemed like it wasn’t going to be Liverpool’s day in the Black Country.

A solid performance from Wolves in defence throughout the game but Liverpool most definitely made the chances to score 3 or 4 but just couldn’t put them away.

But a man called Divock Origi replaced the club captain Jordan Henderson in the 68th minute and his impact was clear. A change of formation from Liverpool proved they meant business.

It was all one way traffic for the final 15-20 minutes with chance after chance but Liverpool just couldn’t drag the ball into the net.

As the fourth official held up 5 added minutes, Liverpool knew they had to give it their all to win the game. A classic Liverpool goal was just minutes away.

A sensational diagonal pass from Virgil Van Dijk to find Mo Salah who sped past the full back to cut back for the one and only Lord Divock Origi to slot the ball home for the winning goal.

The travelling Kop erupted and the Wolves fans were shell-shocked. The Liverpool bench went mental with the manager leading the celebrations at Molineux.

Origi’s winner was just seconds from the full time whistle and makes it Liverpool’s 39th 90+ minute winner in the Premier League, that's 13 more than any other team. Forget Fergie time!

The 3 points for Liverpool put top of the pile for just 45 minutes before City stole that stop after beating Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road but the title race is closer than ever and with 3 teams instead of 2 fighting for that elusive Premier League trophy, this won’t be the only late drama we’ll witness this season.
