After this weekend’s results in the Premier League, league leaders Liverpool are now just 2 wins away from winning the title!

Arsenal once again failed to apply pressure on the runaway leaders, dropping points at home to Brentford.

The 1-1 draw for the Gunners kept them 10 points behind the Reds prior to Liverpool playing!

Thomas Partey gave the Gunners the lead in the second half before Brentford spoiled the afternoon when Yoane Wissa found the net 10 minutes from time to rescue a draw for the Bees.

The result meant Liverpool only needed 3 wins to claim their 2nd Premier League title in 5 years and their 20th league title in the club’s history.

Heading into Sunday, Liverpool took an early lead against West Ham when Mo Salah set up Luis Diaz, for the Colombian’s 11th Premier League goal of the season and Salah’s 18th Premier League assist of the campaign.

The assist broke a Premier League record for Salah, recording 45 goal involvements in a single 38-game season!

However, it wasn’t plain sailing for Arne Slot’s men when an Andy Robertson own goal in the 85th minute drew West Ham level.

Despite that setback, Liverpool ignited their champions-like mentality and captain Virgil Van Dijk stood tallest to fire the Reds back in front in the 89th minute.

The result meant Liverpool now sit 13 points clear at the top of the table and need just 2 more wins to secure the title.

However, they could be crowned champions this weekend if Arsenal lose to Ipswich and Liverpool beat Leicester.

If not, the title would be poetically claimed with a win against Arsenal’s bitter rivals Tottenham at Anfield on 27 April.

It’s just a matter of weeks even days for Liverpool to claim another title and equal the record held by Man United of 20 league titles in English football history!
